Creating your first form

Getting started with NodumForms takes just a few clicks. Here's how to create your first form from scratch.

Step 1: Open the new form dialog

From the dashboard, click the "New form" button in the top-right corner (or tap the "+" floating button on mobile). This opens the creation wizard.

Step 2: Choose a layout

You'll be asked to pick a layout:

  • Standard Form — All questions appear on a single scrollable page. Best for short forms like contact forms or signups.
  • One Per Page — Each question gets its own page with navigation buttons. Best for surveys, quizzes, and longer forms where you want to reduce cognitive load.

Step 3: Pick a template or start blank

Choose from over 40 pre-built templates across nine categories (Business, Education, Marketing, Events, Research, HR, Customer, Healthcare, and Nonprofit), or select Blank to start from scratch. Templates come pre-loaded with relevant questions you can customise.

Step 4: Choose a style

Pick one of the 50 built-in styles to set the look and feel of your form — colours, button styles, and cover. You can skip this step and customise later, or choose "None" for the default look.

Step 5: Start building

You'll land in the drag-and-drop builder where you can add, edit, reorder, and style your questions. Your changes are saved automatically.

Tips for your first form

Yes — sign up with email or Google in under a minute. The free plan gets you 5 forms and 10,000 responses per month with no credit card required.

Not yet — layout is locked when you create the form. We're working on a converter. For now, the workaround is to duplicate the form into the other layout and copy blocks across.

Templates only appear in the creation wizard. To start over from a template, create a new form. Your existing form isn't lost — it stays in the sidebar.
