Overview

A feature request form gives your users a clear channel to share ideas and gives you the structure to prioritise them. This template captures the idea, the problem it solves and how important it is to the requester, so you focus on what matters most. With NodumForms you can build it in minutes, brand it for your product, and embed it in your app or share it with your community.

Good feature requests explain the why, not just the what. This template asks for a short summary of the idea, a description of the problem it would solve, who it affects and an importance rating, so you can weigh demand against effort. NodumForms offers Short Text, Long Text, Single Select, Rating and Email question types, so requesters can describe their idea fully and rate how much it matters. Use the drag-and-drop builder to add categories that match your roadmap themes, and apply your brand colours and logo so the form feels like a genuine part of your product feedback process rather than an afterthought.

Every idea lands in your responses dashboard with a live count. Summary view aggregates the importance ratings and category choices, so you can quickly see which requests are most in demand, while Individual view shows the full reasoning behind a single idea. When you plan your roadmap, export the requests to CSV to score and rank them in a spreadsheet alongside your own priorities. Capturing an email address is optional but useful, as it lets you follow up with requesters when you ship their idea. Server-side validation keeps the data clean, and TLS encryption with hashed IP addresses protects your users' details throughout.

Perfect for

Build your roadmap around real user demand

Product managers and founders use this form to gather and prioritise feature ideas from customers. Picture a SaaS team that wants to stop losing ideas in support chats: they embed a feature request form in their app, asking for the idea, the problem it solves and an importance rating. The PM reviews the Summary view to see which requests rate highest, then exports to CSV to score them against effort.

Why this template works

  • Capture the idea, the problem it solves and an importance rating in one place.
  • Use Summary view to see which requests rate highest across all users.
  • Optionally collect an email so you can follow up when you ship an idea.
  • Export requests to CSV to score and rank them against your roadmap.

FAQ

How do I prioritise the requests I receive?
Add a Rating field for importance so each request carries a score. The Summary view aggregates these ratings so you can see overall demand, and you can export to CSV to rank requests against effort in a spreadsheet.
Can I follow up with people who submit ideas?
Yes, if you include an Email field. Capturing an email is optional but useful, as it lets you contact requesters when you ship their idea or need more detail. The addresses are stored in your dashboard.
Can users vote on each other's requests?
Not within the form itself. Each submission is captured individually with its own importance rating. You can aggregate those ratings in the Summary view or in CSV to gauge overall demand for an idea.
